I had purchased one of these a few years ago and it arrived intact and works fine. However, this one, which was purchased during this past summer but not opened until Christmas (it was a gift) was missing its power adapter and the wood case was badly damaged, so the unit is essentially inoperable junk. Very disappointed. I contacted the manufacturer and was pleasantly surprised that they were willing to ship me a replacement, which is working fine.
